Project Imaginex is what a morning in Italy actually smells like. Not the postcard version. The real one, before the crowds, when the air is still cool and the citrus trees are doing their thing.

Inspired by Imagination by Louis Vuitton, the Parisian house behind some of perfumery's most talked-about releases, this one opens with Calabrian Bergamot, Citron, and Sicilian Orange. Clean and bright, the kind of opening that makes you stop for a second. It doesn't stay there. Tunisian Neroli and Nigerian Ginger bring something warmer in the middle, slightly unexpected, with Ceylon Cinnamon tying it together without making it feel overtly spiced. Then the base comes in, and that's where it gets good. Chinese Black Tea keeps it from going sweet. Ambroxan gives it that skin-close warmth, the kind that makes people ask what you're wearing. Guaiac Wood and Olibanum add enough depth that it doesn't disappear after the first hour.

Daytime fragrance, but the kind that earns its keep.
